Senior Commercial Property Manager – 2 year FTC

Overview of Responsibilities

With more than 40 tenant organisations and a long-term vision to create a world-class innovation ecosystem, UKAEA is delivering an ambitious masterplan to transform its campuses and support the growth of the UK fusion sector.

We are seeking an experienced property professional to play a key role in shaping and delivering this vision. Working closely with the Head of Campus and Property Development, you will lead commercial asset management activities, support the delivery of major development programmes and help ensure our property strategy supports UKAEA’s long-term business, innovation and sustainability objectives.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Support the development and delivery of UKAEA’s property strategy across Culham, Rotherham and other UKAEA sites.
  • Drive the implementation of the Culham Campus Masterplan, ensuring alignment with UKAEA’s strategic, operational and workforce priorities.
  • Lead the management and performance of UKAEA’s commercial property portfolio, including lettings, lease renewals, rent reviews and tenant engagement.
  • Develop strong relationships with tenants, investors, consultants and key external stakeholders.
  • Work with UKAEA’s investment partner to develop and deliver business plans, asset strategies and future campus development opportunities.
  • Lead and manage the Commercial Property Management team, overseeing all landlord and tenant matters.
  • Ensure sustainability principles are embedded within property, development and asset management decisions.
  • Manage property-related matters including land ownership, acquisitions, disposals, planning, valuation and business rates.
  • Represent UKAEA with local authorities, government bodies, planning authorities and regional economic development organisations.
  • Contribute to financial planning, budgeting and commercial performance across UKAEA’s property interests, including Culham and Harwell.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified and professionally accredited through RICS or a similar relevant professional body.
  • Significant experience in commercial property, asset management or property development, ideally across complex or multi-site portfolios.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of negotiating leases, managing stakeholders and delivering value from property assets.
  • Experience leading teams and managing external consultants, agents and professional advisers.
  • Knowledge of property strategy, planning, development and asset management within a science park, innovation, research or technology environment would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across public and private sector organisations.
