Stress-Testing Europe’s Path Towards Commercial Fusion Energy Deployment – Aligning EU and National Approaches

This invite-only event is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Days 2026 and positions fusion energy as a strategic clean-tech solution for Europe, complementing renewables, reinforcing energy system resilience, supporting industrial leadership, and helping the EU remain competitive in the global clean-tech race. The goal is to outline key tenets for the EU’s first Fusion Strategy and discuss alignment with leading Member States to maximize momentum toward commercial fusion energy in Europe. The session will address regulatory, financial, market, and research and innovation gaps that must be overcome to accelerate commercial deployment of fusion energy for a competitive, resilient, energy-secure, and decarbonised Europe.
