About these data
- Funding rounds are collected from company press releases, press reports, and SEC filings, then curated in the Fusion Energy Base database.
- Amounts in other currencies are converted to USD at the exchange rate on the announcement date.
- Some investments into fusion companies in China, including those in China Fusion Energy and Energy Singularity, are reported as registered capital, the amount shareholders pledge to contribute under China's Company Law. Pledged capital does not always transfer immediately, but it is equity-like, at-risk capital, so we count it as equity investment.
- Not every round is announced publicly, so some funding may be missing and some details may be wrong.
- Our database is independent of the Fusion Industry Association's annual global fusion industry report, which surveys fusion companies directly. Our total is higher, mostly because we include investments into fusion companies in China.
