Overview:

We are seeking a Facilities Technician to play a key role in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our Inertia HQ. This hands-on position supports facility, process, and laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse operations. You’ll serve as a first responder for equipment and site issues, coordinate with outside service providers, and play an important role on our Emergency Response Team (ERT).

What You’ll Get to Do

Facilities & Equipment

  • Serve as the first in-house responder for facility, equipment, and utility issues, troubleshooting problems and coordinating repairs.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and calibration of process equipment, lab equipment, HVAC, utilities, and building systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside service providers performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete work orders and documentation in accordance with Inertia SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment, instrumentation, plumbing, compressed air, hydraulic, and other building systems.
  • Support fire and life-safety systems, equipment assembly, workstation moves, and general facility needs.
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent facility, equipment, or utility issues as needed.

Logistics & Warehouse

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials and verify shipments against purchase orders.
  • Implement and track inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and perform routine cycle counts.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and perform final inspections for quality and accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, hoists, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas.

Safety & Emergency Response

  • Maintain a safety-first approach and proactively identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Serve as an active member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Support safe hazardous-material handling and spill containment.
  • Safely work at heights and operate equipment such as scissor lifts when required.

What You Bring to Inertia

  • 5–10+ years of experience in facilities, building maintenance, mechanical trades, or a related field.
  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, shipping and receiving, or material handling.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Laboratory or cleanroom experience.
  • Machine shop experience.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, Building Management System, plumbing, compressed air, hydraulic, and fire/life-safety systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
  • Experience with CMMS software and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. unassisted and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • Experience with WMS and shipping software.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Previous Emergency Response Team experience.
