Electronics Hardware Engineer

Are you passionate about designing advanced electronics for highly complex systems? As an Electronics Hardware Engineer at Novatron Fusion Group, you will play a key role in developing instrumentation

Your role as an Electronics Hardware Engineer

You will develop electronics for instrumentation and experiment-related systems in our current experiment platform at KTH. Going forward, as we start planning the next experiments, there is room to take on more long-term work and influence how the electronics systems should be designed for a much larger experiment. We are looking for someone hands-on and self-driven, who is happy to help colleagues within the team and from other disciplines. We are a growing company and things change fast, so you should be comfortable with that.

You will be part of our electronics and electrical engineering team but work in multi-disciplinary projects and systems. The day-to-day work consists of working and communicating with other electrical engineers as well as physicists, data analysts, software developers and mechanical engineers to mutually agree on system specifications and designs, followed by implementing and commissioning the system. If you have experience developing systems for scientific experiments, that is highly advantageous.

Knowledge, skills and experience

We believe you have:

  • Strong knowledge of analog electronics.
  • Experience with electronics design and multilayer PCB layout.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of EMC.
  • Experience working in an R&D environment.
  • Experience with instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • A master's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, engineering physics or another relevant field.

Beyond your technical expertise, you are self-driven and comfortable taking ownership and initiative. You listen to and consider different perspectives, while also having the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and contribute to your own ideas. You are open to change and comfortable working in an evolving environment.

We also value a collaborative and humble approach, where you are willing to support others and contribute where needed. At the same time, you have the ability to see the bigger picture and understand how your work connects to the wider system and our overall objectives.

It is an advantage if you also have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Altium Design.
  • Postgraduate research or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Physics or engineering physics.
  • Experience from large-scale experiments.
  • System ownership experience.
  • Electrical power systems design and documentation.
  • Relevant Swedish electrical certification.
  • Ph.D. in relevant field
