Description
Low-heat-leak HTS current leads carrying current from room temperature into superconducting magnets — dramatic reduction in thermal conduction and no resistive heating over the HTS section. 2,000+ delivered worldwide.

Standard leads: 150 A – 2,000 A rated at 64 K; body Ø 9.5–25.4 mm; length 305–347 mm; heat leak (64–4.2 K, per pair) 35–560 mW ±15%
Short leads: 150 A / 250 A at 64 K; 170 mm length for space-constrained installations; heat leak 65–130 mW per pair
Ballasted (low-profile) leads with integrated quench ballast: 150–500 A at 64 K; 174 mm length; cross-sections from 4.5 × 1.2 mm; heat leak 65–235 mW per pair
Custom designs: >10 kA current capacity, custom terminals, lengths, and complex geometry to client requirements
Construction: fibreglass composite body encasing the HTS conductor; nickel-plated copper end caps at warm and cold terminals
Sapphire heat-sink kits for optimised lead-to-heat-sink thermal contact (recommended for all leads; sized per current rating)
