Current Transducer

Description

The Knick P51000 is a high-precision current transducer that measures current via shunt resistor on high electrical potential — spanning from amps to kiloamps across up to 10 switchable, calibrated ranges — making it ideal for monitoring the extreme current levels generated by fusion plasma initiation and magnetic confinement systems. It also has the ability to measure direct voltages up to 100 V for small potential measurements in high-voltage systems. With an isolation rating of up to 4,800 V AC/DC and a test voltage of up to 18 kV AC, it provides the robust galvanic separation needed to protect sensitive control and data acquisition systems from the high-energy electrical environments typical of tokamak and inertial confinement facilities. Its built-in short-circuit recognition and self-diagnostic circuit monitoring ensure continuous, reliable operation during long experimental runs where unplanned downtime is costly. Rated for temperatures from –40 to 85 °C and hardened against shock, vibration, and intense electromagnetic interference, the P51000 is built to endure the harsh electromagnetic and thermal conditions inherent to fusion energy research.
