General Fusion

PCS (Plasma Compression Small) is an implosion experiment to study the physics of compact toroid (CT) compression. Because the implosions involve chemical explosives, tests take place outdoors in remote locations. The tests are destructive and can only be executed every few months. These tests are carried out to advance the understanding of plasma compression with the goal of advancing toward a power plant scale demonstration.
TITAN
Fuse Energy Technologies
2024 - Present

The Fuse Energy TITAN project is a pulsed-power driver designed to deliver the energy required for fusion, using a high-power, impedance-matched Marx generator (IMG). It can deliver 1 terawatt of pulsed power in bursts lasting 100 nanoseconds. Unlike traditional tokamaks, TITAN uses a magnetized target fusion (MTF) system to rapidly compress and heat plasma.
