About The Role

  • Execute Testing: Perform routing, continuity, high-voltage, and insulation testing on components, PCBs, and sub-assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot Failures: Diagnose the root causes of electrical and mechanical failures down to the component level.
  • Operate Diagnostic Equipment: Use advanced testing tools including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power analyzers, and megohmmeters.
  • Interpret Documentation: Read and accurately interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Document and Report: Maintain comprehensive test folders, inputting failures into tracking software and writing clear technical data logs.
  • Calibrate Equipment: Set up, maintain, and calibrate lab test fixtures, environmental chambers, and automation tooling.
  • Maintain Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety standards such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), National Electrical Code (NEC), and OSHA requirements.

About You

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or comparable trade school certificate in Electrical Technology, Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Certifications: NETA (International Electrical Testing Association) or NICET certification is highly desirable for this role.

Technical Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical testing, assembly, or field service.
  • Ability to use primary test equipment
  • Ability to read and update electrical circuit schematics
  • Experience with diagnosing and repairing electronics equipment
  • Basic understanding of industrial controls and safety circuits.
  • Basic understanding of industrial AC circuits
  • Proficiency in soldering (J-STD-001 class preferred) and basic computer literacy for data entry.
  • Experience building prototypes
  • Ability to use general hand tools, drills & air tools

Software Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to read process P&ID documents.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products for documentation
  • Proficiency in Confluence, Jira or other web based organizational software tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of NEC codes for electrical installations
  • PCB CAD
  • SPICE or similar electronics circuit simulator

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg)
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel and climb ladders as required
  • Comfortable working around industrial equipment and electrical systems
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

At TAE Technologies, we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge, training; licenses and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr., Sr., Lead or Manager). The compensation range for these roles are $35.00 - $45.00 an hour.
