Alphabet Inc. is a multinational conglomerate founded by Google to serve as its parent company, along with several other businesses. It was created through a corporate restructuring of Google on October 2, 2015, becoming the owner of Google and its subsidiaries. These subsidiaries include businesses in a diverse range of sectors such as technology, life sciences, investment and research, among which are DeepMind, Waymo, Nest and Google.
